How to Use Crab Meal 4-3-0*

Follow these growing tips to use Crab Meal 4-3-0 with confidence.

• Vegetable Gardens and Flower Beds: Thoroughly mix 5 pounds per 100 square feet into the top 3″ of new gardens. New transplants will require 1 to 2 tablespoons per hole mixed into the soil. Follow with a thorough watering. Depending on the size and desired growth rate of established plants, side dress with 2 to 4 ounces once a month during the growing season.
• Container Gardens: Thoroughly mix 1 to 2 tablespoons per gallon of soil or 5 pounds per cubic yard of soil for new plants. Lightly mix 1 to 2 tablespoons per gallon of soil into the soil surface of established plants once a month during growing season.
• Trees: Mix 1 to 2 cups with the back fill soil from the transplant hole dug for new trees. Fill the hole with the amended soil, spreading it evenly around the tree. Water thoroughly. For established trees, mix 1 to 2 pounds per 1″ of trunk diameter around the base and spread out to the drip line (the area located under the outer circumference of the tree’s branches). Water thoroughly.
• Row Crops: Depending on the needs of the specific crop, apply 500 to 1,000 pounds per acre .
