Known locally as the Nishi Juniper, the Chinese Juniper is a versatile and adaptable evergreen that rivals the more traditional firs serving as a decorative, Christmas elements in your home.
A native of Asia and southern Russia, the Chinese Juniper can reach heights of up to 60 feet in the wild. Today, over 100 cultivars exist. This is why the Chinese Juniper comes in so many forms, including groundcover, shrubs, and ornamental trees. The Shimpaku cultivar, for example, is used in the creation of beautiful and long-lived Bonsai trees.
The Nishi Juniper available in our stores is one such cultivar. While we we don’t know which cultivar it is, we do know that it thrives in our tropical island conditions.
